NexHealth Spring 2024 Release
Discover new ways to digitize and automate every part of the patient experience
As a NexHealth customer, you're already at the forefront of delivering a convenient, digital patient experience. But with staff stretched thin, it can be hard to keep exceeding patients’ rising expectations.
With our Spring 2024 Release, we're excited to announce powerful new capabilities that can help you continue providing an exceptional patient experience — while preventing staff burnout and growing your practice.
Help patients find and see the doctor
Many practices struggle to stand out online when potential patients are looking for a provider.
Appointment booking through Google Search & Maps
That’s why we’re excited to announce NexHealth Scheduling’s new Reserve with Google Integration, which lets patients easily book appointments with your practice through Google Search and Maps.
On-the-go access to your practice calendar and patient messages
We’re also releasing new capabilities that can help your practice get more patients from on-the-calendar to in-the-chair.
Our new iOS Calendar View shows your daily schedule at a glance in the NexHealth mobile app. Easily review upcoming appointments and send messages on-the-go, so you can support patients through the critical time between scheduling an appointment and seeing the doctor.
“Seeing the schedule is very helpful in helping me plan for the next day or in the case of inclement weather because I know who to contact and can do that right from my phone.” - Nancy Leiker, Office Manager at Riverside Dental
Essential patient information, always at your fingertips
When you’re managing a busy practice, it can be hard to keep track of all the information you need to assist patients. And it’s even tougher to be proactive about helping patients with a potential issue before they arrive at the office.
The new NexHealth Patient 360 equips you with key patient insights to get ahead of potential issues:
- Patient Search lets you find patient details in seconds.
- Patient Alerts highlight incomplete tasks that need attention.
- The Patient Quick View puts their full history, including appointments and messages, in one place.
The fastest way for patients to pay — synced to your ledger
Getting patients in the chair is only half the battle. Their experience with your practice isn’t complete until they’ve paid for their treatment, which often happens after they leave the office.
Even if you’re able to carve out dedicated time to work on your accounts receivable, following up with patients about their outstanding charges can be slow and awkward. Calling patients one-by-one can take a long time, and patients might not appreciate your persistence after a couple of tries. Plus, many patients are rightfully protective about their credit card or bank information — they won’t give it out over the phone.
NexHealth Payments is the fastest way for patients to pay, and now it syncs directly with your Dentrix or Open Dental ledger.
With the new Ledger Sync (premium add-on), you can see a list of patients with open balances from your practice management system. In just a couple of clicks, you can send individual or batch payment requests to these patients via text and email.
Need to request a payment, but the patient is a dependent or minor? You can easily select the patient’s guarantor as the payment request recipient.
Still waiting on an insurance reimbursement to come through? You can simply request payment for the specific procedures where a claim was already processed.
Then, patients can easily pay via a secure link that protects their financial information. Completed payments auto-sync to the ledger, or you can review them first.
And automated payment reminders keep things on track if patients need a nudge — so you can spend less time chasing collections.
Ledger Sync will be available later this spring, starting with Dentrix and Open Dental.

“Delegating who receives the bill is huge because we have a lot of pediatric patients with different guarantors and insurance. Until you’ve been in my shoes, you don’t realize how big a deal that is.” - Crystal Gile, Office Manager at Atlantic Dental Associates
Get patients back in the office
Even after a patient has an appointment and pays their bill, their experience with your practice continues. Our powerful new NexHealth Communications features are designed to get more patients back in your office for follow-up care.
A faster way to find the right audience
When a patient leaves their appointment with an unscheduled treatment, that can be a missed opportunity for improving health outcomes and driving revenue.
With the new Audience Builder, it’s easy to create a list of these patients so you can send them personalized campaigns to get them back in the office.
Intuitive filters can help you identify patients based on their unscheduled treatments, appointment history and status, procedure codes, insurance, demographic information, and more — all synced from your practice management system.
No more wrangling with clunky data imports and exports — now you can find an audience for your next campaign in just a few clicks.
A smarter way to write campaigns
Identifying the right audience is only the first step. It can be even harder to find time and inspiration to write content that will catch patients’ attention and convince them to schedule an appointment.
The new AI Campaigns Assistant will help you work smarter, not harder, at writing campaign copy that converts.
All you need to do is type in a few instructions about the type of content you want to send, and your AI Campaigns Assistant will instantly write an email or text message that’s personalized for your practice and patients — even including your online booking link if you request it.
“We’re looking for all kinds of ways to bring AI to our practice. I’m excited to use the AI Campaigns Assistant for campaigns like children’s dental health month and diabetic mouth care tips. There’s a lot that you can do with the AI assistant, and it makes it much faster!” - Vera Chopyk, Office Manager at Michael Chopyk DMD
An easier way to view your results
But how do you know if your campaigns are working? To help you understand the true impact of your campaigns, we’re upgrading Campaign Analytics.
Now you can see the number of appointments booked and responses generated from your campaigns, in addition to email opens and clicks.
Manage patient conversations at every location — from a single screen
When patients respond to a campaign or send any other message to your practice, it’s important to reply quickly — regardless of which location they’ve visited.
With Multi-location Messaging, your team can view and respond to messages at any location from a single screen.
This means call center employees or practice staff who work at multiple locations can easily keep track of all patient conversations and respond from one place.
Spring the patient experience forward
We’re thrilled to unveil these new innovations in the Spring Release Showcase.
Here’s when you can expect to see them in your NexHealth account:
