Generate a patient statement with Ledger Sync (for Dentrix and OpenDental)
Patient statements, generated straight from your Dentrix or Open Dental ledger, make it clear what a patient's balance is and how much insurance has contributed.
What are statements?
Patient Statements are detailed explanations of charges included in a payment request. Statements are generated to include procedure-specific charges and insurance reimbursement, directly from your ledger. Statements are automatically included for Dentrix and OpenDental practices using Ledger Sync.
How do I send a statement?
With Ledger Sync, statements are automatically included with individual or batch payment requests.
Why do patients need to verify their date of birth to view a statement?
Because statements include sensitive health information – such as procedures performed and their associated costs – NexHealth has a setting to automatically include a request for patients to verify their date of birth and last name in order to view the statement and complete the payment. This is an added security measure to protect patients’ information.
You can turn this setting off by going to Settings --> Payments configurations --> Auto-Send Statements
